How to I purchase assets?
The same as you would do in any webstore. Browse the shop, add the asset packs you’d like to get to your shopping cart and checkout with your preferred payment method. You do however need to create an account to make a purchase. But don’t worry, I won’t do anything with your account details.
Why do I need an account to make a purchase?
Dreadlabs asset packs are digital products. On a lot of websites that sell digital products, they send you a download link to your email address. Although there’s nothing inherently wrong with it, throughout the years I’ve seen a lot of people sending me messages about losing access to their email accounts, their download emails entering their spam folders or not even arriving at all. A lot of this can be prevented by simply creating an account on the website, which takes less than 5 minutes.
This way you can easily find your downloads linked to your account on the website. After you’ve purchased a product, you’re able to re-download that product as many times as you’d like. Don’t share it with anyone else though. That’s just mean.
Where can I download the assets that I buy?
Once logged in, go to your account page. (You can also find the “My Account” icon on the top right of the menu bar.)
From there, go to the “Downloads” tab. There, you’ll find an overview of all the products you’ve purchased with a download button next to it.
Why should I buy assets that I can create for myself?
That completely makes sense. Of course a lot of people could simply scan in their own paper textures or figure out how to create a certain shape in illustrator, but if it’s only a small part of your project you don’t want to be taken out of the creative process. If you’re deep into a design session you don’t want to leave your computer, go out to the store and buy paper and scan it in. You want to access quickly and effortlessly.
That’s why I’ve taken my time over the years to build an asset library, to speed up my workflow when designing. So although what you’re buying is a digital asset pack, what I’m really selling is time. Think about it, you don’t bake your own bread each morning, you go out to the store and buy it to save yourself that time too. Unless you’re a graphic designing baker. In which case, good for you.
